Jon is an expat Englishman who’s lived in Aotearoa, New Zealand for the last 18 years. Jon has worked in both the public and private sectors in fundraising and sponsorship roles, and he’s been a qualified and active member of the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand since 2014.
Jon has spent the last five and a half years in a fundraising role which was integral to the growth and sustainability of Land Search and Rescue and he has worked on a number of high profile fundraising projects, including leading Strategic Fundraising for Experience Wellington and successfully leading a Capital Campaign at the British High Commission in Wellington where Jon led a British Government sanctioned project and helped raise significant funds to establish a permanent British Memorial called – Whakaruruhau (which in Te Reo Māori translates into "shelter" or "refuge), this striking memorial now stands in Pukeahu National War Memorial Park Wellington. More recently, Jon has held and remains in a voluntary position as Special Trust Advisor for the Ruapehu Emergency Services Charitable Trust. The Trust has successfully fundraised to help build and establish an Emergency Management Facility in National Park Village, Ruapehu (opening/operational November 2023).
Self-motivated and enthusiastic, Jon aims to exceed expectations by meeting client needs and beating given targets. Thriving on new challenges, Jon likes to create strong business networks and enjoys working with a diverse range of people. Jon has been lucky enough to have had the guidance of some fantastic mentors in his time, including Theo Paphitis and has proven success in fundraising, sponsorship, sales / marketing, in the United Kingdom, Europe and New Zealand.
